and music there are a lot of culture movements in the world of young people but i’m going to tell you about eight major groups. they are: punkers, metals, hippies, ravers, skaters, fops (better known as fashion victims), darkers and emos. there is also the ninth group, winders or fans, but they aren’t rec7 ognizable if we talk about music. punkers and metals have got something in common: they are aggressive, they wear dark (mostly black) clothes and they’ve got their strong character . a lot of people think that they are very similar . but they aren’t. punk began in the middle 70s with the start of sex pistols. most of today’s punkers weren’t born when pistols, clash, jam dan7 ned split. you can recognize them by iroca7 zed hair, black leather jackets with buttons or safety pins and, of course, marten boots. their vocabulary is full of archaisms. where punkers are, there is also a lot of fun. metals are known by long hair, leather jack7 ets, leather trousers or jeans. they mostly imi7 tate their heavy metal idols like deep purple, metallica, ac/dc, iron maiden, slayer, led zeppelin and others. their ideology is manli7 ness even if you’re a woman. to be a metal means you can be a follower of: trash, goth speed , death etc. what about hippies? they are very peaceful people wearing colourful clothes and glasses like john lennon did. their symbols are: yin7 yang, peace, fingers in v7form, dove etc. ravers are better known as techno kids. they are well known for their endurance be7 cause their concerts can be veeery long. ravers are, just like hippies, peaceful people. in fact, they are very similar to hippies but hippies areenglish pages 73 more relaxed and they have got different clothes, hairstyles and make up. i think well agree that the words make upremind us of fashion victims. not much to say . its all about money and expensive clothes, accessories etc. they are always ready to pose, act or put on airs. they mostly listen to pop or disco, but also everything else that’s popular on radio or tv . baggy shorts, xl t7shirts, baseball caps, bulky trainers… you’re guessing?? skaters. most of the time they spend on the board. their music is hip7hop and rap so, 27pac, 507 cent, eminem, timbaland. like punkers and metals, most people think that darkers and emos are very similar . black clothes and accentuated black make up. but darkers don’t, unlike emos, hurt themselves, and that’s why some coun7 tries, like russia, don’t accept emos. in some cases it was proved that teenagers who killed themselves were emos . at the beginning emos were a part of the punk movement, but in the 1980s a little group started to break off the aggressive punkers. they were softer . that’s how it all began, today they are their biggest ene7 mies. darkers, or so called gothics, are interested in stuff like magic and religion, but are mostly atheists. they all want one thing – to be unique. still, there’s something they all have in common and it’s their i say about my favourite day ?? aha !!! my favourite day is friday. i wake up, as usually, at six, and it is not easy because i like sleeping till 9 a.m. after breakfast i go to school, there i play with my friends and learn a lot. on friday i have five classes, so sometimes i wait for my friends and we go for a walk to opatija. we have a pizza and play in the park and that's what i like most of all – play and lau7 gh with my friends. in the afternoon i don't have to study, but i watch my favourite serial on tv. from seven to eight i train athletics and then, when i come back home, i watch tv with my family. friday is my favourite day because the day after we don't have to go to school, so i can sleep lon7 ger. friday is the day when i spend a lot of time with my friends. in the evening my a party room.the hall is very special.everything in the hall is green.on the second floor there are seven rooms.two bedrooms,two kitchens,a sitting room,a bathroom and a dining room.there is a jacuzzi i go to bed. sella hrvatin, 5.cenglish pages 75 intrnational last summer my friend matea and i went to a summer youth camp Å¡olta. we had a great time. we met in rijeka at nine o'clock. when we came to split, we continued our trip by ship to the island of Å¡olta. first we all went to a meeting point to get to know each other and then we met the tea7 chers who took us to our rooms to leave the luggage and rest. teachers were young, nice and patient. in fact they were not real teachers, but students of the well known university of oxford. we met new friends, and all of summer camp Å¡olta them were friendly and kind. we spent a lot off time together, playing games, go7 ing out and it was fantastic. we learned a lot about different cultures. and, ofcour7 se, we had to speak english. the most entertaining thing on Å¡olta was the disco. for me it was the best thing in the camp. it was unbelievable. there were multicolored spotlights, good and loud music. big stage and dj7s. the nature on the island is truly bea7 utiful. with a rich vegetation and many animals. and the sea is very clean. we had our olympics. we were divided in four groups, and had a lot of fun. we visited the city grohote, where we bought something to eat and drink. in the end, when we had to leave the camp, we were very sad. this was the greatest summer ever, and we all hope that our parents will let us to go
